صرّح كريستوفر جيانكارلو، الرئيس السابق للجنة تداول السلع في الولايات المتحدة<\/b>، لصحيفة فاينانشيال تايمز، أن عملاقة وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، فيسبوك<\/b>، تمر بمراحل مبكرة للغاية من المحادثات “مع اللجنة بشأن عملتها الرقمية”.<\/p>

وأضاف التقرير أن هذه المحادثات من شأنها أن تساعد في توضيح ما إذا كانت خطط الشركة لمشروع الدفع الخاص بها Libra والعملة الرقمية، والمسمية داخليًا “GlobalCoin”، ستندرج تحت رعاية اللجنة منظمة المشتقات المالية.<\/p>

وفقًا لجيانكارلو، من السابق لأوانه القول ما إذا كانت عملة فيسبوك تقع خارج اختصاص اللجنة: “لا يمكننا التصرف إلا بناءً على طلب ما، ليس لدينا أي شيء أمامنا.”<\/p>
